Azal Hunzai’s work is driven by a deep commitment to exploring liberation, cosmopolitanism, and spirituality through the lens of Muslim cultural traditions and futurist creative expression. His practice aims to challenge historic centers of epistemic power, offering new perspectives on ancestrality, contemporaneity, and futurism.
Through Eternity Lab, Azal draws on a broad range of cultural influences—from the literary, visual, and sonic traditions of Central Asia, South Asia, and the Muslim world, to the subcultures of global cities that speak to an unrelenting youthfulness and generative rebellion. Eternity Lab's work engages with abstraction, collage, and futurism, blending these with conceptual rigour to generate work that is deliberate, tasteful, and critically engaged. Azal's own spirituality, rooted in the timeless, transhistorical spirit of Islamic mysticism, guides him as he strives, through Eternitiy Lab, to contribute to a world that is just, honest, and ever-evolving.
